The band we grew up in, the dog that never sleeps. WS formed itself in 2013 after a years-long migration to the mississippi delta proved a need for something tall n hevy over the planes of history the 4, 5, 6 of us found ourselves melting into. Call it devastation rock. Call it not thought thru. Call it what it is. When we first got together it was mud, thick indiscernible waves of noise n chords; a little while later our hands n knees n plenty of joints came out of the soup while we leaned into psychedelic rock n painted our faces; the third WS phase explored a lost place, somewhere your self follows its self after a long time of not doing the right thing; chapter 4 was aptly called Sky Funeral, n like the ritual itself is proof that nothing in the universe has ever died. COWBOY is the undying ghost of whatever Water Spaniel is to us n yall: noise worship, lites in the dark, skeletons in tha closet, friendship, love, forever, forever, forever. Originally written in a coastal town in Washington state and brought back to the delta, this song is our longest lasting project. It capstones whatever this was and is, 7 years in the making and onward. Thank y’all. -WSFP

a song we worked on in the summer and fall of 2016. originally recorded live to an uncalibrated Tascam 38 tape machine with big time speed inconsistencies. few years later smoothed out the speed and added guitar/bass/vocal overdubs to get it to where we envisioned it.
